Strategic board game
Play chess to improve strategic thinking.
You need: A chessboard or a chess app with a practice board.
Put a knight on a central square of an otherwise empty board. Mark every square it can reach in one move: two squares in one direction and one sideways. Move it to a corner and repeat. Compare how many choices it has.
You've done enough when: Two diagrams showing why a knight has more options near the centre.
If a whole game feels overwhelming, practise with one piece at a time. Winning is not the finish line for this project.
